We will be on vacation for a week in Wood's Hole with 3 kids - ages 5-11. Any suggestions for family-friendly and good food? We will have a car. Hoping to avoid touristy, expensive and bad food! Thanks so much for any help you can provide!

  1. For breakfast, don't miss Pie in the Sky - great coffee and pastries. They also have eggs.

Thanks - I saw that one and it is very close by. Do you have any dinner suggestions? Places within 30 minutes drive or so?

We recently went to Famouth (10-ish minutes from woods hole), and had dinner one night at Firefly - it was very good. Great thin crust pizza, small plates, and entrees from a wood burning oven. I enjoyed the a small plate (which was actually quite large) of steak with blue cheese. Good wines. Nice atmosphere, but they were very kid friendly as well. For lunches, seafood sams was fun for fried stuff - didn't like the lobster roll though.

    2. A seafood and pizza restaurant family friendly and less expensive is Paul's Pizza behind main street in Falmouth, No sign and they don't advertise local legend type place. Fried seafood, kids plates and thin crusted bar pizza.
Try the Pie in the Sky popovers!
Quicks Hole has a fun vibe and great fish tacos. kid friendly, music and they use local ingredients.
Lastly Coonamessett Farms has a fun Jamaican Night the meal is cooked and served by the seasonal Island farm help. Music and the kids can run around. It is in Falmouth, about eight miles away from Wo Ho,

When is Jamaican night? Sounds like fun and good chow, mon?

Jamaican night is Wednesdays 5pm-8pm. Check the website just in case. Get there early rather than late.

If you get the Boston Globe, there is an article in the "G" pullout today about Jamaican night at CF.
