Rye Roadhouse - can't believe it's been two years.

Went to the Rye Roadhouse Sunday with my brother and father. I used to go all the time when it was called the High Street Roadhouse, but realized from a past post, that I hadn't been there in two years. Got their around 5:30-6:00 and pretty much had the run of the back room. We ordered fried calamari for the table and it was very nice. lightly battered and not overly fried. The remoulade was also quite tasty. I ordered the blackened catfish which came with two sides. I had the collard greens and some mac and cheese. The fish was perfectly cooked and delicious. Hints of spice, wonderful flavor but not crusty and you could taste the fish. The sides were very good. I did notice the portions were slightly smaller than the old place, but I think the food was better. My brother had the jambalaya with a side of jalapeno mac and cheese. He said both were very good and his portion was big enough that he brought home leftovers. My father had a pork loin special with steamed vegetables and collard greens. Not one complaint about the food and the service was very good. If one person wasn't in the room, the other waitress filled out water glasses and even read us the dessert menu while our waitress covered a table that had just walked in. My brother had a slice of cheese cake. Our drink items were a pint glass sized bloody mary, two glasses of wine, a coke and two coffee. Bill came to $119 after tax. Very reasonable, relaxed and delicious meal. I won't wait another two years to be back.
