Need to find a nice upscale venue for a rehersal dinner for 50

We are struggling to find a good place- most of the restaurants have private rooms that can take up to 25 people. We would love to get recommendations for nice restaurants or other creative ideas as to where we can do it. It will be in October. It does not have to be cheap!

To elaborate, it's a nice enough (though nothing special) space with good views. The food is basic country club/academia club/social club food.

Ok, I was wrong. A friend had a company event at the Harvard Club this past weekend and said the views were beautiful, but the food was absolutely awful.

I'll change my rec to Mistral or Abe & Louie's.

Brasserie Jo has a nice side room for functions. A few other options would be Top of the Hub, Abe & Louie's, and Mistral.

Mamma Maria has a room that will accomodate up to 50. I had a dinner party there in a private room recently (much less than 50) and everything was just great.

Locke-Ober has rooms that can accomodate 50.

This is assuming you want to be in downtown Boston. Is that the area you are looking in?

Not sure if the Salon Room at Mistral can accommodate 50, but I've done two events there and both have been fabulous.

Just found this on the Mistral website:

"Mistral's private dining room, Le Salon du Mistral, accommodates 60 seated and up to 80 guests for a reception."

We did our wedding + reception in the Mistral private room with just under 50 people and it could easily have handled more. It was a great experience and I recommend them highly.

Clio has a PDR that can hold 50, I believe.
