Recs for cooking classes in Manhattan?

First off, I've found this board to be incredibly useful! Thanks for all the great info posted!
OK, my wife and I are heading to Manhattan for our anniversary (like so many others!). I'd like to go for a cooking class for the day with her. Anyone have any experience with a private / gourmet chef that they would recommend?

Hi, I have signed up for a cooking class on July 27th, 6:30pm at Vetro Restaurant in Howard Beach. Their executive chef is teaching the class and his focus is Summer Appetizers. The cost is $45 pp and it includes 3 courses and wine tasting. The chef is a CIA grad with 22 years in the biz. Sounds like a very intimate setting. www.vetronyc.com

No prior posting history and a little too much information on a class that's not even in Manhattan - the OP is looking for specifically classes in Manhattan - I call spam.
Are you looking for a private, one-to-one setting or an intimate cooking class? If the latter, I would recommend ICE. I have a friend who loves their classes - he tried to drag me to several, though I am not a cook - I can ask him which particular classes he liked if you are interested.
