Soda Jerks has opened on the Santa Monica Pier

On weekends we take walks on the pier in the mornings, and we noticed that Soda Jerks has opened in the Carousel, which opens 11:00. We want to try it, but don't want to go to the pier during that time especially in the summer. Real ice cream sundaes, phosphates, etc. in an ice cream parlor atmosphere with the classic merry-go-round. They use Fosselman's ice cream, to boot. Love to hear any reports.

So yes, it is the old Pasadena Soda Jerks, living up to their closing-sign promise from 2005. Too bad I can't eat anything there any more ;(

Is this the same Soda Jerks that closed, about 4-5 years ago, in Pasadena?

For the longest time, the Pasadena locaiton kept their phone number with a message that said they are looking to reopen, when the right location is found. The last time I tried to call, about a year ago, that number was disconnected.

That was my first question, too, when I saw the title of this post. Sounds like it may be - especially since they use Fosselman's.

It's one thing to be located in Pasadena and use Fosselman's. Easy trip to restock at Foselman's. If you're in Santa Monica? Much tougher.

Ok got the 411. I called their SM location and talked to the owner.

They are the same owners as the Soda Jerks in Pasadena. They are still trying to find a location in Pasadena.

They still use Fosselman's ice cream. They only serve ice cream in SM. They do not serve food.

They are closed every Tuesday!!
