Best pub/casual near the ball park anyone?

Bunch of us old cranky guys goin' to the Mariner's game on a weeknight, so is there good pub food with good beer and at least decent glass of wine near the park? Some of us get even crankier when we don't eat well. Thanks.

  1. Elysian Fields or Collins Pub are probably your best bets.

I'll second Elysian Fields. I stayed in the area for a few nights without a car and it was a decent choice within a short walk. Not spectacular, over seasoned at times, but the vegetables were fresh and there were non-fried choices. The beer's quite good at least.

    2. A few more blocks away, but Owl'n Thistle Pub on Post Ave has decent food and some good game-day deals. At one point they had free hot dog w/ proof of Sounder's tickets. I'm unsure of there baseball or football deals.

      1. It would appear that there is actually decent food and drink available at Safeco field. We'll be there in a couple of weeks and I was thinking of finding dinner somewhere before we went to the game but I looked around last night and found enough good comments that I think we'll just eat there (and I HATE eating at the ballpark, but given that it's our only day in Seattle it probably makes sense if we can eat relatively well).

New this year at Safeco is Sound Seafood and I recommend their blackened salmon sandwich and many reccomend their crab sandwich too. We are season ticket holders and made a point of trying all the new vendors this year, and they are the best in our opinion. They are in the Terrace Club which technically requires a special ticket to enter, but you are allowed in if you say you are only buying food to go and return to your seats. For a sit down meal not at your seats, we heartily reccomend the pork sandwich at the Bullpen Pub.

Thanks for the info. Question who has the best garlic fries in the park?

Someone else can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe they are all the same vendor. Follow your nose. Enjoy!
