I recently got promoted and I would like to treat my coworker for dinner. I am planning to spend $30-40 per person and I am looking for a restaurant in the financial area where we can book a private room.

Thanks for you recommandation

Terroni or Beer Bistro would probably work for this purpose / price range, though you didn't say how many you wanted to accommodate.

Is your budget just for food or for drinks too? It is a bit of a tough one in that area. The new O&B cafe at the corner of Yonge and Front might work (if you can keep it under 24 people), as would perhaps Biffs.

Kultura, which is a bit east of the financial district but still doable, would be an option. I have been to private functions there. It is also a nice change from some places in the financial core.

I agree Terroni would work too.

Great Cooks on 8 might do something private and fun for you if you want something a bit different.

If you want something more casual you could rent the PJ O'Brien's upstairs bar which is totally private but it is more pub style food. C'est what has good, casual private space as well. Neither of those would put food front and centre, of course.
