Sr Germain-en-Laye?

For a day trip to St Germain en Laye, does anyone know of any good food and places to eat ? We do know about the chocolatier Pascal Legac.

It's a decent town for food, but there is no "must" that I know of. The establishment restaurant is Cazaudehore, not bad, good duck confit, has a terrace. La Rotisserie des Loges is also an attractive, simple place. Most of the good Parisian chains are present in Saint Germain (eg Fuxia, Kayser). La Gerbe d'Or is a very nice bakery. There's also a rotisserie next to it (across the street from the movie theater) that is nice. The market on sunday is very nice too. One RER stop away, in Le Vésinet, Avril does über-traditional pastry that I like a lot.

Souphie, did you try La Feuillantine? I thought the the lunch menu was quite good, and reasonably priced.

Ah, the cousins live in Le Vesinet. Will remember Avril next time I go over there.

In Le Vésinet Centre, Hazard is not bad. Avril is better, in a way, but he's by the market square at the limit of Le Vésinet and Le Pecq.

I have great memories of Cazaudehore's baba au rhum. They give you the bottle or rhum vieux and a large soup spoon to pour more over your baba and they turn their backs while you sip the rum directly from the spoon.
