Kid Friendly place for lunch, downtown LA
Did a search, and came up with zippo. Looking for a relatively kid friendly place for lunch, downtown, close to the Staples Center if possible. All I can come up with off the top of my head is Original Pantry, which my DH refuses to go to (don't really blame him) and Wurstkuche, which isn't that close to the arena, and the kids weren't that impressed when we did take them there last summer. Would prefer not to end up at El Tepeyac, though we love that place, but always eat waaaaaay too much, and we are doing the Circus after lunch.
Thanks, as always, I know I can count on my fellow LA CHers.

Thanks everyone, and especially cls, we ended up at the Yard House, my DH was in heaven, with all of the beer selection, and my kids actually ordered something other than cheeseburgers! Was a perfect lunch, before heading to the show, we had ten minutes to make it to showtime and it worked out really well.

How about Olvera Street? (Haven't tried any restaurants there myself though). I also like the laid-back vibe of Moles la Tia, which is close to downtown. We've taken kids to Oomasa in Little Tokyo.

Well, at LA Live you have lots of options, some more kid friendly than others. Rock Fish ESPN Zone, and Trader Vic's might work.
A bit farther away, you might consider Nickel Diner (what kid wouldn't fall for maple bacon donuts?), or Wood Spoon (great chicken pot pie and sweet potato fries).
Philippes, as others upthread have suggested, is one option but it is a major trek to Staples.

You're right, ispe. We've done the Phillipe's thing, so thanks for that suggestion, but we'll probably head somewhere new.
I liked Nickel Diner, but not really the area. Just a little too gritty, although it is afternoon.
Much to my chagrin, ESPN Zone may work, destined to have cheeseburgers (their fave) on the menu. Wood Spoon may be a good option will look into it. Even Trader Vic's, tho DH may not be thrilled, though it's not all about us!! ;))
Thanks for the suggestions guys, I really appreciate it.
