    Mimmo's Italian
    Wild Willy's Burgers
    Wildcat Pizza
Fox's Lobster (touristy though, right at the water....)
Brown's Ice Cream near Nubble Light........if you're in York and a teen goes missing, this is the first place you should look!

Nontourist? Rick's Cafe (grub and gossip) and STolen Menu Cafe (fancypants grub and gossip), also Wild Willy's Burgers (awesome burgers, hand-cut fries, good frappes, no credit cards), all in York. On Route 1 in Cape Neddick: Frankie & Johnnie's Natural Foods (if your teens eat a lot, portions are huge, BYOB and no credit cards), there's also a Jamaican take-out joint that's cheap and good. Might check out Lucia's Kitchen, too. It's recently expanded.

There is a nice place on the way north on Rt1A just out side of York. Called the Cape Nedick Lobster pound, which is reasonable and good.. (http://www.capeneddick.com/) take a look at there website. Also right in down town there is a place called the Goldenrod Which is a candy store but also a nice restaurant ..(http://www.thegoldenrod.com/) There are many in Ogunquit about 5 miles north on Rt.1A or Out on Rt.1 both will take you to Ogunquit.. Read the many post about Ogunquit on previous posts on Chowhound.. Good luck Earle

York Harbor Inn has a casual dining room. Jeans, shorts, are their expected attire. The menu consists of salads, some pizza selections, burgers, pasta dishes, all the way up to more expensive dishes (seafood and steak). My husband and I have dined there many times when we stay in Portsmouth. You could also head to Maine Diner in Wells. Home cooking, extremely reasonable prices, just good plain food. Check their websites for menus. Good luck. Lots of traffic in York Beach in season.
