I am getting quite addicted to Aki’s; it is a really great Indian restaurant on the finger wharf in Woolloomooloo and it is rapidly becoming our regular spot for a great Indian meal.

Last night we started with “Crab Iddiappam” ($23) which is really flavourful balancing the spice with the sweet flavour of crab. Next some “Mirpakai Kodi” ($25) which is good and spicy chicken dish; a “Vendakai Sundal” ($21) which is a great vegetable dish with a interesting textural contrast provided by fried vegetables; and a very decent “Saag Paneer” ($19) with big chunks of cheese.

Four dishes with a couple of breads filled us up and we struggled to finish it all. Service is good, the setting is great, and the food is first class. It isn’t the cheapest but it is possibly the best this side of the bridge.
