Decent pub grub in downtown Toronto

I'm a foodie that has to take a complete non-foodie out for dinner in downtown Toronto (staying near Jarvis/Dundas). I don't want to resort to the Keg or other chain restaurants. Can anyone recommend a place with decent pub grub and beer on tap that will satisfy all palates?

Queen & Beaver may be best for food/beer near there. I wouldn't call it exactly a pub, but Duggan's Brewery may work too.

I'm a foodie who was really suprised/impressed with Three Brewers Pub (across from the Eaton Centre). They just opened not too long ago. Cheap beer because it is brewed on site. Full pub-style menu, but opt for one of their Flammes. I say go for it!
