It has a lot of fans here, actually, enough that I went out and tried it myself. I like it. It's an original, not like every other burger in town. Give me variety.
Also, try The Gallows burger, which has a nice crunchy thin-patty texture to it.

re: MC Slim JB
It is original, I'll give you that, they are trying something different, even if I don't fully believe it is a true burger. I went to the Gallows and didn't get the burger, was too weird, because I think they were expecting a review that night, next time I'm sneaking in and (trying) to go unnoticed.

I'm definitely willing to "defend" the Druid burger. It's one of my personal favorites. I think it all comes down to personal preference. If you don't enjoy the spice mixture they add to the mix than the burger is not for you. I've never found it to be off putting or anything but wonderful, but do have some friends who find it to be overwhelming. Now, if they happen to overcook it, (which you mentioned they didn't) than that is another story altogether. If the cooking was on, than I doubt it was an off-night, but rather the burger is just not for you. In fact there are some who wouldn't even consider it a burger, because of the spice mix, but I'm not one of those people ;-)

I'll defend it, although I know what you mean about "meatloaf style". It has a lot of seasonings and spices in the meat mixture which is just not everyone's bag. I like it very much and they have always gotten the temp right for me, something you can't always rely on.

It's not a juice bomb like Toro or Central Kitch (where the juice is literally dripping down your arms) but I don't remember non-juiciness. I suppose this calls for more research. Sigh. ;-)
I hate an "off night" if that's what it was.

I'm not sure I've ever heard anyone defend the Druid's burger. Everyone I know goes there for the fish and chips, which are superb.
