Old Stone Station In Cambria?
Headed to Cambria in early August -- have reservations at Hoppe's in Cuyucos where we have had numerous great meals in the past. The problem is Cambria: the last couple of trips dinner at Black Cat Bistro was disappointing -- very limited menu and we had a hard time finding something we each wanted to eat. Earlier this year not only was it hard to find a menu item we each wanted, our visit was ruined by numerous small children running wild through the place screaming and banging into walls while everyone pretended it wasn't really happening. It was a nightmare and we are hesitant to return.
We were underwhelmed by Madeline's and the Sow's Ear. Robin's is a lunch place for us. The Indigo Moon menu isn't our style. I know I sound like a Picky-Poo, but there you have it. I'd eat at Bistro Laurent or Artisan in Paso Robles if they weren't 40 minutes away.
Which brings me to Old Stone Station. It looks like an old-school steakhouse menu, which will be fine if the steaks are good. Anybody have a recent experience?

re: kaoticfoodie
Had not heard of Cass House but checked it out on your suggestion and it is EXACTLY our sort of place. (One of us doesn't eat seafood, so Sea Chest is out.) Unfortunately Cass House is closed for dinner Tues. and Wed. It looks like we are making the drive into Paso on the night we aren't eating at Hoppe's. But we will definitely check out Cass House in the near future. Thanks for the rec!

I strongly advocate Robin's as a destinaton place for dinner. I've been going there for 20 years and we love the food. Another interesting place to try is Wild Ginger - the sister of the owner of Robin's. Excellent Asian rim food with wonderful presentation and great use of vegetables and fruits. The owner lacks warmth but the food overules that.
