Need Candy

Hello --

I'm looking to fill some vintage glass bowls at a reception with an assortment of attractive-looking chocolates and other small candies. Any stores in D.C. that sell a variety of candies, particularly old-fashioned kinds? Not looking for the sorts of places where each chocolate piece costs several dollars.

Not in DC, but not far away is Candi's Candies in Old Town Alexandria. I'm pretty sure they'll have everything you're looking for.

For something slightly different but I think still in the vein you're looking for, Russian Gourmet stocks a lot of Russian candies.

There is a place near Farragut North, I forget the name, but they have lots of candy, actually I think there are two places right in there, one that is mainly chocolate and one near the Grooming Lounge that is also candy.

Not necessarily "attractive" but cute- are the new pretzel m&m's- they are so good. Dean & Deluca and Balduuci's may be a good place to check out- but may be on the expensive side.

Chocolate Chocolate is in Farragut North and mainly has chocolate. Chocolate Moose, also in Farragut North, might have other candy.

Thank you so much for the names. I used to be in that area for work daily, but how your memory fails you in such a short time!
