Is there good food in Myrtle Beach?

The family is going to Myrtle Beach, including my 8 year old daughter, and have been looking at some of the older posts and are unsure what places to try.

Are there good places to eat at different price points in the area, and what are the do not miss and make sure you miss places?

I can't think of anywhere on the Grand Strand I wouldn't feel comfortable taking my six year old....its pretty child friendly.

I've eaten often in MB the last 8 months and I think the best food now is at Mr. Fish near 34th and Hwy 17. The fish selection has to be the largest in MB and can be prepared almost any way you'd like including sauces and sides. Recently, I had grilled escolar topped with madeira sauce that was simply outstanding. This isn't the place for white table cloths and silver, rather plastic knifes and forks and paper towels. It's usually packed solid, but definitely worth the wait.

Another one of our favorite places. A little pricier but the chow is superb and the service is outstanding. We have gotten to know these people quite well and we frequently pull up to their patio dock in our boat, at Barefoot Landing, and spend the evening there with friends. It is a locals' favorite. I have never had anything on the menu that I did not enjoy - stick with the fish and meats entrees and you absolutely cannot go wrong. I also highly recommend making reservations during the summer season.

We love the place. We always eat there when we stay at the condo. They are family owned and super nice people - the chow is excellent. Matter of fact my wife is in Naples, Italy right now, has been there since May and will not be back until August but she told me just the other day that as soon as she returns we are headed to our condo in Myrtle Beach and chowing down at Benito's. Everything on the menu is excellent and very reasonably priced.

Where are you staying? Are you interested in BBQ, Country Food, fine dining, or what. I assume you have a car. The better restaurants are S of MB in Murrell's Inlet. Thanks.

We will be near the Broadway complex, and will have a car. Most interested in fresh local seafood, but are willing to try anything that is very good. We will be there for about a week and will want one fine dining place, BBQ, Country Food is fine, but we do not need to go just because we are in the south, only if it is truly outstanding. Dive's that have tasty food would be great too.

Just want to stay away from bland chain's and theme restaurants.

Are you willing to drive 15 miles to Murrell's Inlet or 20 miles to Pawley's Island from Myrtle Beach. The restaurants there are much better.

In Murrell's Inlet go to Lee's Inlet Kitchen for outstanding lowcountry cuisine, Captain Dave's Dockside Restaurant for good seafood lunch and dinner, Prosser's BBQ, Russell's Seafood Grill for good seafood, Salt Creek Cafe for good appetizers, salads, sandwiches, and a mix of seafood, country and steaks and Spud's for a good view, fun dining, good food and music. Lee's is outstanding, so is Salt Creek and Spud's is fun.

Littleman, thanks for the recommendations this is exactly what I was looking for. I noticed that on Lee's website they list two sister restaurants in Myrtle Beach Chesapeake House and Chestnut Hill, are either of these any good?

                          Hi y'all

Sorry for the delay. My dog died. It knocked me back. Anyway,

I like High Hammock at Pawley's.

                          Get the shrimp and grits.

All good info above. If you don't want seafood one night, Rioz is a very good Brazilian Steakhouse.
