Fire Island 2010

so...anything gotten better in restaurant land in Fire Island? Cherry Grove/ Pines area.
I haven't been for awhile, but have mostly found the eating out to be pretty dismal. Suggestions for best of the worst appreciated...

    The Blue Whale in the Pines is now run by the people from Almond of Manhattan and Bridgehampton. I have not tried it but reports I've gotten are that the food is good, but nothing spectacular, the menu is limited, and the service is (surprisingly) very good. Canteen is also new, replacing the Bay Bar, and is supposed to be pretty good. Pines Bistro is still considered reliable.

      Although not in Cherry grove/pines, le Dock in fair harbor seems to always be decent. Heard the Landing in OB is new and good
