Need a Dallas business casual dinner recommendation

I'm going to be staying at the Hilton Anatole, at Stemmons and Market Center Blvd and need a suitable recommendation within a reasonable taxi drive. Southwest cuisine is probably preferred as my dining companion may not be as adventurous as I am.

  1. Not necessarily southwest, but Trulucks in Uptown has something to make everyone happy. They specialize in steak and fresh crab, but their seafood is great too. Pretty sure the website is just Enjoy!

    1. Somewhat SW but one of Dallas' more finer restaurant is Nana in the Anatole. Don't drive just go up the elevator and enjoy the view, cold drinks and fine food. If this does not work go N across Stemmons to Oaklawn and cut back S to Cedar Springs to Texas De Brazil. If that is not SW there's not any. Good luck.

      1. With the site recommendations and location within the hotel, Nana is looking pretty unbeatable. Thanks muchly :)

Nana is a good pick given location is important to you. Chef Bombaci is noteworthy for his creativity (think foams and other MG influences), but the menu will have dishes that please everyone. They actually added a vegetarian menu a year ago, here's some good info, as well as some perspective on Bombaci's style:

I will say.. I'm boggled by the omission of Stephan Pyles and Fearing's in other recommendations considering you did say southwest and you aren't that far from downtown. I thought they would have been immediate suggestions!

I would have mentioned both but Nana came to mind because it was so convenient. Fearing's is my favorite Dallas restaurant. I have always enjoyed Chef Fearing's food. I had many a good meal at The Mansion. Stephen Pyles is nice also. I should not have put the Texas Da Brazil recomendation up but the OP wanted something SW. I was not sure the OP would want to opt for an expensive dinner like Fearings or Nana. Seems Nana may be the choice.

Fearing's will be my fall-back destination and I too remember many excellent Mansion meals. I will be busy in meetings within the hotel this afternoon/evening, so the proximity factor coupled with your recommendations will make Nana a compelling choice. Thanks again Hounds!
