Your normal watermelon is too big for the fridge. What the hell do you do with THAT?

Truly, I would eat gobs more watermelon if it were not for the storage problem. I like mine cold with lots of salt or with feta cheese.

I buy a whole watermelon and cut it all off the rind in nice size chunks and store it in zip lock bags in the fridge. The rind goes in the garbage where it's going anyway.

Littleman, at my house the rind gets saved for watermelon pickles (not too hard to make, and delicious)! Ever tried them?

The first place I ever had them was at the Cotton Patch in Eutaw, Alabama.

Never had em. Send me a recipe. I have a place on a lake near the Ms. River. There were a lot of coons around so I fed em some scrops and they loved water melon rinds. They would eat it all except the tough green part.

Have you been back to Cotton Patch. Is it still open. I like your blog. Good luck.
