One night in Portland - where to eat

I would like a recommendation for dinner In Portland. Price is no issue. I don't want a stuffy, fancy place but I do want what you consider the best place in Portland. Any type of food is fine. We are staying at The Nines so anything within walking distance is a plus though not a requirement. I realize this is very wide open and I will look at other posts for information. Any help is appreciated.

Just keep in mind that Castagna is not at all walking distance. It's across the river and a bus ride away.

Gruner is a great choice, as is (also within walking distance) Higgins and the Heathman.
