Late lunch?
Looking for somewhere wonderful to have a late lunch next Weds. We are only briefly in Paris, our train arrives at 1:30 (and we leave again by train at 8:30 that evening) It seems like the ideal opportunity to try Chez L'Ami Jean but am confused as to when they stop serving. Will we still need to make a reservation for a 2-2:30 lunch?
Another option as we are arriving Gare du Nord so could dump the bags and get to the Canal St. Martin area sharpish - is Chez Prune still any good?
Otherwise would prefer to leave our luggage at Austerlitz (from where we get the train to Barcelona) and metro it from there. We were planning a picnic dinner on the train that evening and will have missed breakfast so definitely need a proper meal!
If too late for CAJ then a brasserie may be our best bet. I know Souphie recommended Fontaine de Mars (which I know my husband would like!) and john talbot , Drouant but I think we'll be too late for Drouant.
Thanks!

At Le Cinq you can arrive as late as 2:45 p.m. and still be served lunch--quite a contrast from La Régalade, where one o'clock is the cutoff!

Checked in before Souphie, but Quincy just on Ledru-Roland is close and wonderful.
They serve both lunch and dinner on Wednesdays, but do not know their hours, so contact.
Have walked there from Gare Austerlitz often and love it. Big , big fan of CAJ as well, but Quincy is special. Most wonderful frog's legs ever.›2 Replies -

Now feeling rather foolish as have just checked tickets and it seems we arrive at 12:47 - not 1:30 so should have plenty of time for lunch and not get stuck with some reheated poulet roti at sub-standard brasserie!
Still want to know about booking for CAJ, let's say we could arrive by 1:30, will we need to book?
thanks so much!
