Where can I buy uni cream sauce???
I read about it, but cannot find it. I need something to curb my uni fix between the real unis. I went to Nijiya in Rowland Hgts, nothing. what is it called exactly and what aisle should it be in? Do they carry it at Matsuwa? Marukai? Thanks!

I've never seen something like this. A few companies do sell canned urchin "roe" (actually urchin gonads) and you can get it fresh from places like Quality Seafood at the Redondo Beach Pier complex. But in a can (or jar) with some sort of commercially prepared cream sauce? Never seen it (but I'm willing to attain a new experience if some other hound out there has).

re: Servorg
I actually saw it mentioned in a thread here, but it was from 2007 or so, and it mentioned Nijiya specifically. It is an uni cream sauce, for pasta. I plan on going to Redondo soon. :) I practically grew up on the pier! When I was a kid, a worker at Quality SF offered me some uni in a still alive urchin, and I was like no way! Come to find out years later, i had in it a chirashi, and I asked what it was. I was like Doh! I should have taken the sample! XD Needless to say, I love it, not only is it my SN, I named my dog after it.
