Bastille Day Macarons by Chloe's in Santa Rosa?
To celebrate Bastille Day this week, Chloe's French Cafe has been offering a special lunch that includes a pistachio macaron for dessert. I stopped by this afternoon hoping to snag one of the macarons to try. But sadly, I was informed that they're only available as part of the lunch, even though it was past 2pm at this point. I learned that I can buy 2 dozen by special order. But not having tried one, and knowing how hard they are to make properly, I'm not inclined to do so. Has anyone tried the macaron here?

There were macarons at the Wednesday night Santa Rosa market just now. She had little tiny ones, so I tasted lemon, chocolate, rosewater and salted caramel. The only trouble is, I've completely forgotten the name of the baker.
I liked them, but I actually prefer the hardier and extremely easy Sephardic macaroons I make myself: egg white, sugar, and ground almonds, that's it. You don't even whip up the egg whites.

My guess is it is Dominique's Sweets.
