Need Recommendation for Authentic Korean Rest.

I am in Seoul as I write this and have been blown away by the Korean food. Are there any decent Korean restaurants in the DC area?

Need my Kimchi fix!!! Thanks.

Honey Pig is fantastic. Lighthouse Tofu (also in Annandale) is also great, esp. the soups. Yum.

Annandale, VA I've read has the third largest Korean population in the world outside Korea. I've eaten at two places there, both of which I really liked: Honey Pig and Yechon. Honey Pig is great for Korean BBQ. Yechon has a wider variety on the menu. Both are very reasonably priced as well.

In terms of authenticity, I ate once at Yechon with Korean friends (she is Korean and lived most of her life there - he is American but lived in Korea for years). They enjoyed the meal very much and said it was as good as the best Korean food they'd had in NYC - though not quite as good as the best they'd had in Seoul, which serves to reason. Both Honey Pig and Yechon have been packed with Korean diners when I've been there.

My favorite Korean meal in the area is at Vit Goel, a restaurant that specializes in soon du bu, a tofu stew. There are only about four other dishes on the menu. You order by spice level (1-5) and by ingredients. My favorite is the pork and seafood combination ordered 5, the highest spice level. It's spicy, but completely tolerable. Locations in Annandale and Rockville.
