Where to purchase a keg of Abita

My husband and I will be traveling to New Orleans in early November for a few days. He is a huge Abita fan and since we are driving into the city, we were wondering where we can purchase a keg for the trip back home.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance.

Rouses (Vets) usually has them on hand...call ahead to be sure
    Elios (off Claiborne)
    Icehouse (Kenner)
All require a deposit unless you are returning an empty. Pony kegs are available as well. I've found Rouses to have the best price. My husband usually picks it up so I'm not sure of the price...somewhere around $120???

It might be easier to buy a couple cases- I'd imagine that way the beer would keep better and wouldn't have to be drunk within a few hours of tapping the keg. You can also get different varieties of Abita that way too.

Why would the beer need to be drunk within a few hours? If they have a keg fridge it will keep once they tap it.

I do not have a keg fridge and my general knowledge of kegs is lacking, I guess! I'd still go for a couple cases of different kinds of Abitas.

We had a party last week and someone brought a six pack of the new (well new to me) satsuma flavor. Not good at all.

i kind of liked it, maybe more than the strawberry.

but the best strawberry is from the Covington Brewery, its an unfiltered wheat and it tastes amazing. its on tap at the American Sector.

I haven't done much keg purchasing since my college days, but I'm not sure anyone sells kegs. You can buy the beer inside, but isn't the actually keg just loaned out? That might be a problem if you want to drive it home.

I suppose someone might sell you the physical keg along with the beer, but I wonder if it would be worth the price?

I don't know about NOLA as I don't drink beer but they make Abita across Lake Pontchatrain in Abita Springs which is a short drive N of NOLA. I have been to Abita Springs several times. Go to their website and go to their locator.
