Recommendations around the Gabriel Péri metro, Paris

I'll be staying in Paris for two weeks (July 20 - August 5) with my gf, in an apartment close to the Gabriel Péri metro, in Asnières-sur-Seine, Paris.
I've found lots of great recommendations for the "center" of Paris, but nothing around where we'll be staying.
All recommendations will be appreciated, not just restaurants...

Thanks!!! :)

I think I know why. You have to get on the Metro and come into town, even then, you have to get to the Place de Clichy before you reach striking distance of food.
Levallois is not far by taxi and has several greatr places tho'.

Are you sure, John (glad to hear from you). Looking at city-vox and lots of other internet-based resto criticism sites, I see lots of recs for Asnières, (an old suburb on the conventional métro line) I just couldn't swear by them. And the only place I ever ate in Asnières was a very ordinary working-class Maghrebi men's café, along with a Moroccan friend (who also was good for much more gastronomic places - this was his slumming at a "joint"), but he doesn't live in Paris any more.

Thanks for the tip on city-vox! I hadn't heard of it and it seems it's got quite a few recommendations. I'll keep my eyes open for the Maghrebi café ;)

Yeah, I was a bit surprised that nobody has any recommendations for a bakery, deli or anything...! I guess I'll just have to go to town...

Thanks for the reply nonetheless :)

I wonder whatever happened to the site of Michel Guerard's famous Barriere de Clichy is Asnieres, one of the first nouvelle cuisine, Gault/Millau stars where we ate in 1968. viaMichelin lists one by that name but in Clichy.
