Hamburgers-John's on Olympic or Whittier
Pastrami-the Hat near Atlantic and 60 fwy.
Chinese food-go to Monterey Park
Forgot the name--Semi-Japanese food-mostly hand rolls and some sashimi. Hot dishes are a mix of Korean and Japanese. Corner of Montebello and Whittier.

If you like authentic Mexican seafood preparations, you should check out El Bukanas in Montebello. They bill themselves as “le Catedral De Los Mariscos”. A fair self-assessment, I would say. Wonderfully fresh seafood prepared and served in the Nayarit/Sinaloa tradition. Fabulous botanas (seafood platters), grilled whole fish (pescado zarandeado), delectable smoked marlin tacos, nice beer and fresh juice selection, great service and much much more. What more can I say? How about a 3.5 – 4 lb. fresh, raw seafood platter with all the trimmings for $40?! Indeed, a religious experience that, for me, has become a ritual – particularly on Sundays.
