Albany recommendations (incl. take-out)?

bennyt Jul 13, 2010 07:53 AM

I'll be in Albany for a couple of days later this month, and I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for quick and casual dinner. Thanks!

Specifically, does anyone know of anything near the Albany airport? Thanks!

Everything in Albany is near the Albany airport; some especially nearby favorites are D'Raymond's, Milano, Barnsider, Reel Seafood. But within a ten-minute drive there are Chinese, Korean, Indian, Afghan, and Thai places, not to mention any number of diners. Can you be more specific about what you want?

Thanks for your response. Am looking for something not too greasy or heavy; have to be up early the next morning. Probably some kind of Asian? Have you been to mai linh? Can you recommend it at all? Thanks!

My Linh is more upscale than Van's, better service, better bar, a little farther from the airport. Van's is a storefront place, pretty authentic Vietnamese menu, so far as I can judge, down the block from CCK, first-rate Cantonese.

If pub grub would suit you, maybe you'd enjoy Beff's, very close the airport on Everett Rd. Often wins Best Burger award from the local paper, good pizzas, too.

right off wolf road you also have buffalo wagon which is pan asian including sushi. they opened the beginning of last year and are adding to the menu as they get more requests. they have take out and are open for lunch and dinner. they are only a few minutes from the airport. we like them quite a bit.

Second D'Raymonds. Van's and My Linh are Vietnamese. Van's seems to have more fans on this Board. My SO likes My Linh and Milano. I have not been to either. CCK on Central Ave. for Chinese. Phoenician's on Central Ave. has a very casual atmosphere:
