looking for small food huts or food carts that serve fish (ceviche)

HI Everyone!

I was wondering if there are any markets around that have small vendors that served Ceviche Don't want to go to a restaurant, just a smaller cart or hut that serves. Thanks a lot!

  1. I know there is a vendor at the hill crest farmers market that sells ceviche. That's all I can think of at the moment.

    1. You can get ceviche to go at Blue Water Grill on India. It's in their retail fish case. The serve it with chips from El Indio.

There's also La Playa (or is it La Playita) in Clairmont.

It's La Playita Seafood at 5185 Clairemont Mesa Boulevard. It's right next to the Smart & Final market. I shop at that S&F but haven't tried out the seafood place.

You're missing out if you haven't eaten at La Playita...try the Vuelve a la Vida, instant satisfaction.

Second that recommendation. We haven't been here that long, and we've visited 4 times already.

      2. González Northgate Market (specifically the one at 1410 S. 43rd St.) has quite a selection of different types of ceviche...I think I saw 8 or 9 varieties when I was there on Sunday.

Salsa Market in El Cajon is the place I ws referring to - you can also get good ceviche and cockteles at the Maricsos El Pescador truck in Chula Vista, at Northgate Market, and at the Imperial Farmers Market.

          2. There's a popular stand in the Poway Farmer's Market on Saturday that serves ceviche. My husband and I have been meaning to try it, because everything coming from it looks and smells so good.

It is the same folks from La Playita in Clairmont, and yes it is very good.

            2. The truck on 35th and University has Ceviche and great tacos.

              1. Poppa's Fish is in several farmer's markets (Little Italy, Adams Ave, North Park, Rancho Santa Fe and Mission Hills, possibly others) and they have excellent fresh ceviche most of the time.
