Paris dining extravaganza

Reviews of various restaurants on recent Paris trip
July4th : Remenet
had the tasting menu 2 best dishes were the St. Pierre with roasted vegetables and a light buerre blanc and fantastic gaspacho, service was efficient but not professional
July5th: Ze gallerie Kitchen: ok this is a fusion restaurant again we had the tasting menu as you know the dishes are expertly created and perfectly executed.. the star was a zucchini blossom stuffed with guinea hen forcemeat......all items are finished with an acid( citrus , vinegar etc) and they are artfully dispalyed with micro veggies and herbs, service was excellent . In my estimation more of a New york or San Fran restaurant than Pais
July 6th: Bistrot Paul Bert: very straightforward excellent meat and frite, but the most soulless restaurant of our week. Get em in and get em out no personal touch
July 8th Frenchie: Had 2 great dishes here , Sweetbreads crisply sauteed with fava beans and veggies in a beautiful reduction sauce...then duck breast with beats and raspberries. The food is so well conceived here but the total experience is not fantastic because there is no interection with the front of the house as one person is doing it all and that is impossible.
july 9th Chez L'Ami Jean: Again great thought to the menu with impeccable products, it was incredibly hot in Paris that week and as you know you are on top of you neighbor here. the food is so good that the tight quarters are overlooked.. We in the US would never put up with the lack of A/C in most of these bistrot Paris restaurants , i laugh at the ease in which we adapt here and would be outraged in NYC or elsewhere.
Best overall experience Chez Josephine Dumonet.......Fabulous interactive service with wonderful traditional french food

    1. Great report. Much to agree about.

        1. Great report indeed. Thanks.

For the record, CAJ has air conditioning.

Does it? I thought I remember them letting the door open last August, but I'm not that familiar with the restaurant.
              OK, where's my phone now?

It does. The door and window are always open, but the AC is very clearly on. It was pretty evident when it was 100°F outside and I actually feltt chilly inside.

I had an interesting experience this week where the A/C was off until it hit about 40; we Yankees are such wusses.

CAJ might have a/c but it was hot!! doesn't matter as the items we had were off the chart great. ....A roasted veal saddle served on heirloom tomatoes that were expertly herbed the contrast was fab.( roasted shallots in their skins aalso in the dish) as a starter tiny scallops sauteed in spanish ? pancetta and onions simple but unreal.
