A lot of restaurants have stopped serving Chilean Sea Bass because the species have been catagorized as ' Endangered ' due to over fishing!! Should settle for Florida Garoupa or West coast black/ling cod instead.

i just checked the site it still says chilean seabass. are they allowed to still put chilean seabass in the menu even though it's not?

    2. Ethos isn't far from Union Square, maybe a 10 minute walk north. They have sea bass (not Chilean, but similar in texture and taste), which they call kalogria on the menu. It's $19 a pound, which isn't too bad a price for the area. Lots of other whole fish for takeout, too, like branzino.
