Chinese bakery near Tallahassee?
Does anyone know of a Chinese bakery near Tallahassee? The main Asian market here doesn't offer pastries, and I don't like visiting the sketchy smaller ones that never have a good selection anyways. I really don't feel like driving 3 hours to Jacksonville, because honestly at that point I might as well be going to Orlando. So what I'm looking for is somewhere within an hour, possibly a nice destination where I can make a day trip out of it. I'm really craving some egg tarts and red bean buns.
And does anyone know if there is dim sum nearby, as well?
I think you're SOOL on chinese bakeries in Tallytown.
But the Bamboo House on 6th Street and Monroe, just south of Lake Ella and the Police Station, might be your bet for dim sum, and good Chinese. I hear they do it on Saturday Mornings, if you call ahead and ask. Buffet but order off the menu for other food. Google for the phone and directions.

sometimes they have some at Mikes Seafood, in the shopping center at the corner of Apalachee pkway and Cap Circle. Look on the counter to the left of the cash registers. On Saturdays they have some roast ducks, too.

I find that Mike's usually has some mass packaged sweets next to the counter, but not really pastries or buns. I'll have to visit them more often, though. I do love roast duck. And thanks for tip, crewsweeper.
