Settle a bet? Prettiest restaurant in Charlotte.
I don't care about food (well, that's not true but for the purpose of this post it is). I'm looking for CH opinions on what is the prettiest or best decorated restaurant in Charlotte.

Just found another contender. Kalu Asian Kitchen and Bar. The food is amazing and the place is magnificent. The decor, design, art and ambiance are all spectacular. They are uptown 505 East 6th Street.

re: hazardnc
You should give it a try. A fine dining experience at a reasonable price. Not cheap but very reasonable for the top quality offered. First class ingredients prepared with amazing creativity and technical skill. The ambiance and the art work displayed is not your common Charlotte vibe. Dim Sum served on Sunday is a whole new level of experience.

Hand's down, prettiest restaurant in CLT, Savannah Red in the Marriott City Centre Uptown. Only seats 27 people.

re: waitress
Interesting Waitress. I've not heard great things about the food at SR so I never popped in. Very pretty. As to earlier Bonterra comment, that's what got the whole thing started. What is UP with the acoustic tiles on the ceiling? I know they're functional but they look awful. The person I was having this conversation with thought Pewter Rose would be the clear winner and it hasn't even been mentioned.

re: southernitalian
I have waited tables at Savannah Red for 8 years, I am permanent on call. It's an awesome gig, they call me for wine dinners!! DUH!! OK, I'll work. This is beside the point. Food has been up and down, I think it is pretty good right now, I am not sure I would want to blow it out with the hotel pricing, but wine dinners are the deal, get on their email list.

I've always thought Carpe Diem did a great job (that goes for their previous locations as well).

re: billyjack
Agree on both Fig Tree and Carpe Diem. The artistry on the wood at Carpe Diem makes it a one of a kind in Charlotte and the renovation at the Fig Tree bought the Lucas House back to it's roots, on steroids. Elizabeth is fortunate to have both of these restaurants, with great food as well.
