Fog City Diner - What's good?

Going to Fog City Diner for a work dinner this week. Never been, what's good?

Went here for dinner the other night and found the food exceptional. We had a big group so ordered a bunch of apps to share including:

Crab cakes – fresh with lots of crab
Bread basket – delicious, especially the corn bread with the pepper jelly
Fried calamari – great spicy sauce with a kick
Mac and cheese – creamy and decadent. Close to the best mac and cheese I’ve ever had. (Best is still at Pican.)
Meatball sliders – meat was nice and juicy
Truffled fries – crispy with a nice truffle flavor

For the main course I had a burger that was cooked perfectly. The “lasagna” someone at the table ordered looked really good and different with what looked like puff pastry. The ribeye looked really good as well.

For dessert I had the chocolate molten cake that was really good as well.

We got there a bit early and hung out at the bar. The bartenders were friendly and recommended some tasty drinks. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised and thought that everything from the food, drinks to service was excellent, especially for the price point.

Thank you. I had been touting it on past performance and proximity to the Alcatraz Pier. Nice to get an upbeat update.

There is a new chef there. He's been there for the past few months. Great pedigree- Rubicon and Carneros Inn to name a few. Food has drastically improved. Worth a 2nd look.

It's been a while, but I remember the cheddar biscuits were pretty good. Same goes for the flatbread with caramelized onions and caesar chicken salad, but only available for lunch for some reason?
