We need to find a restaurant that will accommodate 50 people for a Sunday get together. It doesn't have to be brunch.....we looked at Javier's, Beachcomber in Crystal Cove, even Don the Beachcomber's but none so far is tickling our fancy. Any suggestions??????

I can't way I was overwhelmed with the food, but the new Sandy at the Beach in Huntington Beach might be a great option. The patio is literally steps away from the sand and should be able to hold 50 no problem. This is the restaurant that was formerly Chimayo right underneath Dukes.

I went to a birthday party there about 2 months ago and everyone seemed to enjoy the vibe.

2nd the Sandy's rec. As cdmedici said, the food is decent and you have a direct view of the the beach and the Pier. They also have a small craft beer menu. There is a portion of the patio (furthest end south/east from the pier) that has a few large tables and couches w/ tables; probably could fit 50 over there, and you are in fun/partial sun too, with a few shady spots.

The fam is looking for atmosphere (beach) and they are willing to spend $35.00 or so. THey tried Javier's at Crystal Cove but they are not the nicest peeps to work with and they rarely returned phone calls etc. and only allow 2 hours. My sis lives in Denver and misses the CA beaches.

LIke wilafur notes, Las Brisas might be a good choice. It overlooks the water at Laguna, they can handle a large party, and the brunch is $33 pp.

although not on the beach, las brisas can handle your group.

not the best food but they offer an affordable prix fixe brunch and great views.

Maybe consider Sabatino's in Newport? It's a fun place with good food. Also, the Beach House in Laguna, food not that great, but funky old spot.
