We are spending a month in Berkeley this summer and love dim sum. Any suggestions?

None that I can think of in Berkeley.

Go north to Asian Pearl or L&L

West to East Ocean in Emeryville

Or South to East Ocean (Alameda) or Legendary Palace in Oakland

    East Ocean Seafood

King Tsin on Solano has dim sum. Haven't been in years. It was once our go-to with our kids known to them as King Tsimmerman.

Did they add the dim sum fairly recently though?

          It's been a while.

While I've had decent enough dim sum at King Tsin, I've also been served dishes that were still frozen inside. This might have been on weekdays, so there might not be enough turnover for them to make it fresh every day.

L & L and East Ocean (Alameda) have been consistently excellent.

I suspect the original poster is not a local person.
The non-Berkeley places listed by kc72 are all good choices, and are nearby via car or public transport. Though they are not "in" Berkeley they are all within my very narrow radius of travel.
I know one Berkeley place that has (or had) dim sum: May Flower on University Avenue. They had a selection of vegetarian dim sum items as well. I haven't been there in some years.
By the way, if you are coming to Berkeley from some normal place in the world, bring your long underwear. It has been very chilly here.

You are going to scare jaimecouchon. Already having shut out on the Berkeley bagel scene we are now closing down the dim sum alternative.

Yeah I guess that is cutting down on the ethnic brunch options in Berkeley.

There is no "great dim sum" in Berkeley. For tons of opinions and suggestions just check some of the dim sum threads already in progress on this board.

My favorite is East Ocean in Alameda. The 51A bus goes right there.
