Downtown Sacramento - eats and drinks?
I have a business trip, so I'm on an expense account. (I'm not that excited, it's $60/day for all meals in incidentals.) I'm staying at the Clarion (16th and H st.) and won't have a car.
Recommendations for a good breakfast that is less expensive than the typical hotel dining room?
Recommendations for dinner? I'm open to any cuisine, a good steak (especially if someone serves grass-fed) would be nice, Anything typically Californian, or just something that is a well-known local place thatserves good food.
Recommendations for lunch? (I'll be near City Hall)
Also, for after hours, any good bars?

Well as long as no one else ( is answering I will do my best. I don't visit midtown much so..
The Lucky Cafe. Great breakfasts with all kind of different sausages.
The Waterboy is the best place in town IMO. 19th and Capitol. Typically California surely. Next door is the Rubicon Brewing Company. Great food, great beer and a great place to party. Across the Street is a great lunch/light meal place, Jacks Urban Eats.
K St is close to where you are and that pretty much sucks for lunch and is shameful for dinner. But there are some cool places, Pyramid Brewery is nice, great food, mediocre beer. Very yuppified. I think there is the soup place that is near there though that everyone raves on about, I haven't been but if people are raving on soup it has to be pretty good.

I second Waterboy for the great food and service.
Also, the beer at Rubicon is generally very good.
