Japanese grocery stores near Lake Highlands?

melanita Jul 10, 2010 08:18 PM

I am new to the Dallas area and live in the Lake Highlands area. I was wondering if anyone knew of any good or even decent Japanese grocery stores around. I'm in serious need of some supplies but can't seem to find anything that carries Japanese goods. I appreciate any help!

It's not in your area but Shop Minoya at 3115 West Parker in Plano, about a 30 minute drive, would be your best bet. They only carry Japanese items and have things you can't find anywhere else. Thera also Asia World Market at 240 Legacy Drive in Plano and Super H Mart at 2625 Old Denton Road in Carrollton.

Kazy's is the closest place. They are off 635 and Greenville, before the frontage road hits Forest. Lots of other good suggestions above as well.

Yep Kazy's is the place to go for you. I must say though that somehow I found the neat and clean isles of Minoya enticing.

Both are the only two in DFW, period. Each has it's own specialty and uniqueness. I would suggest visiting both so you know where to go for what.
