Southall....? [London]

Heading out for a rare Southall trip this eve and would like to try and get something interesting.

I know it's not fashionable and I, like many others, have gone East in recent times for 'curry', but has anyone been out that way recently?

I'm thinking Gifto's...

I haven't been that recently, but have always been a fan of The Brilliant on Southern Road (not to be confused with Madhu's Brilliant) - always unusual things on the menu, served at big tables - no frills or pretension here but always packed! (Think they close on Mondays).

Aren't they related in some ways?

Just for reference, a few weekends ago I tried to go to Madhus then Brilliant for Saturday lunch, and both were closed. (Despite Madhus claiming to be open from 12:30.) Best to try for dinner then!

On that note, Brilliant was pretty good last time I went.

Southall is bit of a slow starter in the mornings...esp. at weekends so I guess they have stopped opening for lunch at weekends. And yes, they are related...

There is much more to Southall than Brilliant(s)...try Roxy's or Shahenshah (behind the Police Station). So, how was Gifto's?
