Upper Valley/Woodstock dining recommendations wanted
Looking for a fun, nice, and good place for 3 couples for dinner next weekend. I called Pane e Salute last week, but we are on the waiting list.
Where else? Is Elixir good these days? Parker House? Prince & the Pauper? Anything new?
This is a yearly event and we've been to Carpenter & Main and Simon Pearce (would rather not repeat).
Thanks!

Have you been to Keeper's? I highly recommend it. It's between Reading and South Woodstock on rte 106. It would be about 12 miles (?) from the Woodstock green. Very charming and relaxed atmosphere. The food is fresh and seasonal. Three rooms, tables nicely spaced, lovely old bar, Pleasant, friendly - not stuffy - service. The menu is always changing (lots of daily specials). What I really like is the attention to what else is on the plate...a good amount of tasty side vegetables. I think prices are around $6-12 for and appetizer and $15-22 for the main dish. Call ahead because they are not open every night of the week. Plus you'll have a nice drive down there. Other recommendations: Yes, I think Parker House in Quechee is wonderful. Inn at Weathersfield (further south than Keeper's on 106). Always delicious, locally sourced. You will love the setting at the Kedron Valley Inn...an old inn, great little bar area, wonderful front porch dining. I always seem to end up w/ the burger so I can't really speak for the whole menu. Mangowood, in West Woodstock at Lincoln Corners, has a beautiful dining room, attentive service. The food gets highly rated all over. It's good, not great, to me. I'm sure others will chime in, but I recommend Keeper's, Parker House or Inn at Weathersfield.
