??? Jeanty at Jack's

It's been a while but I tried to find out what happened to this old place.

Are they still up and running? Is anyone else in there at 615 Sacto. St.?

  1. That place closed a couple of years ago. Haven't seen a replacement. Challenging space. Probably better suited for a brothel than a restaurant.

Get Slick Willie Brown back in the Mayor's ofc, and that could very well become a reality!!

    2. aaaahhh, opening old wounds! they closed in 2009. very sad - my office went there all the time for long, languid lunches. i thought it was a great space, actually - perfectly suited to the food. and no, it's still empty, the place is up for sale. i hope a really good restaurant takes over, though we really miss Jeanty being there. Bistro Jeanty is still open... but it's not the same. That place actually feels more.... Disney-ish? Jeanty @ Jacks actually was a bordello, as nocharge mentions. but the Bistro has a very cutesy, country French feel, to me. less authentic, maybe. Food is just as good, from what i remember.

I asked because we had our wedding dinner upstairs and wanted to go back for our anniversary.

oh sorry for you! nice memories you have, at least...

One oldtimer told me that despite rumors to the contrary among the younger set and on the internet, Jack's was NOT a bordello. Yes, there were private rooms for assignations, but you had to bring your own woman. I've not tried to confirm this but wanted to pass it on.

MW, Todd Humphries will be the new exec if the deal goes through.

            1. re: chefT.

What? Todd Humphries is going to be an exec chef at a restaurant in the old Jeanty at Jacks space??

        3. Shhhhhh... its in the works..
