The TACO TRUCK Lakewood NJ ...EXCELLENT!!
I bumped into an old friend the other day who also is a "foodie' and he told me about Taqueria Madrigal "Taco Truck" in Lakewood, NJ who has the Best Tacos around....only on Fri/Sat/Sun they park the Truck in the Shenandoah Park parking lot on Clover street.......so naturally I had to venture out today and try some Tacos....let me tell you my friend was more the right, when I got there there was a line up to the truck, and a nice truck it is all stainless steel and very clean...the menu has only a few kinds of tacos they serve...grilled Beef, Pork, Shredded Beef, Head, & Tongue....OMG!! they were so fresh and delicious and only $2.50 each! a fresh grilled Corn Tortilla filled with grilled seasoned Beef with fresh cilantro, white onions, or Shredded Pork in a nice seasoned sauce...I had one of each 5 total, lol..... all were super good, bags of Fresh Chicarone, ice cold Mexican sodas served truck side too.....they come with home made fresh Salsa Verde also YUM! I'm told they also have a restaurant in cedar Bridge Ave in Lakewood also just past the railroad tracks in the shopping center next to the laundry across from the ball field.. I WILL be back!

I was in the neighborhood, and decided to try out the store for some tacos due to the great reviews.
I must tell you this was my first taco experience. Never had 'em before. These were great! I had a sampler of four different ones. They came on hand made corn tortillas.
I had the pastor, marinated pork meat. This one was very tasty, but the greasiest of the bunch. Then came the campesinos, which was beef and jalapeno peppers. Lots of peppers in this one, and a nice bite! The asada (beef) was good, but not the standout in the bunch. Since this was a first for tacos, I decided to go all the way out on the limb and get lengua (tongue). This was terrific, and nothing I imagined it would be. It was very beefy and delicious.
I got plenty of lime segments to dress the tacos, and also red and green sauce. Both were very good. I ate each taco hald red and half green. I chose a Jarritos soda from the case, Tamarind. I'm not sure what it is, but I enjoyed that too.
For those of you worried about location, don't! I am the biggest chicken on the planet, and I felt comfortable in the shopping mall. The restaurant is very neat and clean, and there were a few tables occupied, since I was there after lunchtime.
I'll be visiting again. Maybe I'll eat in and try the flautas, which you can't take out.

I'm from Lakewood, though I've been living in Los Angeles for the last 15 years (LA has so many taco trucks it's not worth counting).
My culinary memories of Lakewood are Wawa Shortis, Chinese, pizza and Italian food. No Indian restaurants, no Korean. The first Japanese sushi place opened on Rte 9 back in the mid 1980s when I was a kid, and I remember thinking how strange it was that they served raw fish.
But I absolutely love reading that Lakewood has a real taco truck. I have little to do with Lakewood nowadays, but it tickles me to know that we at least have this connection.

I'm pretty familiar with the area that the restaurant is at... next to the liquor store at the end of MLK Blvd. I'm not so sure I'd be comfortable going there without a flack jacket, no matter how good the food is.

re: Tapas52
I just went there today. Nice place, tacos were good, soda cold, waitress friendly.
Neighborhood is a little odd with the mix around there but not dangerous.
That said...The best tacos that I have had in a long time, including Mexico are at
The Bradley Cafe on Main Street in Bradley Beach. Soto and his wife Graciela
put out some great food. Worth the trip for breakfast or lunch..
