Vendetta Sushi in Keene, NH- Packing lots of fresh & local ingredients into some creative rolls
I'm on a mission to let more people know about the new sushi offerings at Vendetta in downtown Keene. I've just moved to town, so I don't know a lot about any old opinions about this place floating around out there, but in addition to being the closest thing to a beer bar that we have in Keene (lots of Rogues on tap- maybe too many in my opinion, but that's a different topic), they have recently completely overhauled their menu to focus on sushi and "sushi bowls." They are using farmer's market greens and vegetables, Wichland Woods (local farm) mushrooms, fish from Maine, and wrapping it all in nori that is also coming from Maine. I really have to applaud them for packing in so many fresh, local ingredients. Everything tastes super fresh, and is surprisingly filling. I will say upfront that I'm not one who typically cares about impeccable service, but if you are, you will probably be frustrated here. Being a bar, you are expected to order yourself from the bartender, and there are just a couple of guys in the back rolling your order, so expect to wait. They are enthusiastic and appreciative of feedback, so it all works for me. But again, you're not going to be waited on and have your order on the table in mere minutes. So, settle in with a good craft beer and be prepared to be pleasantly surprised.
