  1. Yes, I have been there before. I posted a short review here: http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/5224...

But I think the bistro Les Artistes Bistrot by Nicolas that I reviewed earlier has closed down. Nicolas just focus on its fine dining now.

Are you from Singapore? I do remember some of your comments on Japan Board.

Yes I am actually based in Singapore. But I've been having my most memorable meals in Japan these last couple of years, hence the posts on the Japan board.

Agree, all my most memorable meals are in Japan as well.

Just one more note, you may want to try Alba, which is located at 35 Keong Saik Rd, the exact location of the previous bistro by Nicolas. It is an Italian restaurant served by an Italian-trained Japanese chef; Italian food is served with some influence of Japanese ingredients. I personally have not tried it but my friend have a huge thumb up. I was told this restaurant is owned by chef Nicolas as well.

Interesting, thanks for the tip. One of my most memorable Italian meals was at Ristorante Aso, would love to find something similar in Singapore. Are you in contact with any of the other Singapore-based chowhounds? Perhaps we can organize a chowmeet at Alba.

I have tried Aso too; don't think you can find something similar here.

Good idea. I just spoke to klyeoh, he is interested in a chowmeet at Alba too. My email address will be posted on my profile for the next 1 week; we can communicate the details through emails. Let's confirm the day and then I can post the invitation on a new thread.
