GREAT JAPANESE AYCE (allyoucaneat)

Somewhere in a blog is a comment that no Asian all you can eat restaurants are very good in Vancouver. I disagree !! I have been eating at Kisha Poppo for years and always find it excellent !
Not everything is perfect,(what ever is?). Their sashimi is always terrif and their gyozas are some of the best I have ever had. The coating on the tempura is too heavy ! The best deal is at lunch when the price is very reasonable !!
The very best Asian Buffet I have had in North America is at the Mandarin on Yonge at Eglinton in Toronto. Huge selection and lots of non asian dishes for those who want some other tastes. Don't go on fri, sat or sunday if you can help it as the price is bumped up way too much !!
Happy munching !!!

  1. I don't know how a restaurant can be "excellent" if some of their food is not...

I used to go to Kisha Poppo back in the 90s when I didn't know better.

    1. With all due respect, in Vancouver, AYCE and sushi aren't really synonymous.

But if I *had* to go eat AYCE Japanese/Japanese-inspired, I'd choose:

      1) Shabusen Yakiniku (Granville @ 14 Ave): mix of Korean BBQ and Japanese sushi. Don't go the the downtown location, far worse

      2) E-Bei (Granville @ 41 Ave)

And that would only for the food, not for their ambiance nor service.
