Broadway, San Antonio

Looking for best lunch and dinner choices out the west side of Fort Sam Houston. Already like Picante Grill for Poblimo and top shelf margharita. We'll be in the area for 3 days. Along/near Broadway?

  1. Tre Trattoria, right next to Witte Museum, excellent Italian food.
Sorrento Pizza, across from Central Market.

    1. Cappy's, on Broadway just north of Central Market, has great food and charming ambience plus a tree-shaded patio if it isn't too hot. Also, just a couple of blocks north of Central Market is Paloma Blanca--great Mexican and also a lovely patio. Plus The Heights Margarita is terrific (it's in Alamo Heights).

      1. Thai-Lao Orchid at 7959 Broadway,on the back side of a little shopping mall has terrific Thai food. I love the omelet./crepe thingy with pork, chicken and shrimp. It will feed two and other offerings are just as good. Their pho is quite tasty although it could have more spice. Second the rec. for Tre...if they have pork belly as a special, order it. Terrific. While you're in that area, don't miss a stop by Central Market. The produce section alone is worth the trip while their cheese, deli and prepared foods depts. will offer up great selections for a picnic in the nearby park. The area you're in is Alamo Heights and is one of the oldest and grandest neighborhoods in SA. Take a drive through the neighborhood to see some lovely old houses, if you like that sort of thing. Enjoy your stay.

Thank you, all. Not going for a few weeks, yet.
