Fun Engagement dinner in Boston

MParente Jul 8, 2010 12:08 PM

Hi All- I think the heat has finally zapped my foodie inspiration so I am turning to you guys for help. My husband's best friend got engaged over the past weekend and they are coming into Boston (from RI) to celebrate with us and one other couple. I'd like to take them somewhere that feels festive and cool for dinner/drinks. I'd like to keep the price moderate (i.e. Franklin cafe type prices) since we will be spliting the cost with the other couple for the 6 of us. We live in the South End, but would cab anywhere in the city. I also want a place that takes reservations. We will have one steak/potatoes type guy and the rest of us eat everything/anything. Thanks!

Everyone is loving the Gallows right now...not sure about reservations there.

I've had great dates with other couples at Myers & Chang. I always think small plates are a great way to go to share the dining experience, prices are moderate and the drinks are great too. Plus, they do take reservations.

I always like Hungry Mother. It's a trek from the South End but a doable trek, especially b/c you could use public transport. Fantastic drinks and food and a price point that is comparable to Franklin.
