Sherwood's In Larchmont tonight
Going in a few hours and wanted some suggestions. I know there are some that are huge fans of the place, but in my handful of visits I've never been impressed with the food. I've had burgers, ribs and wings there and none would I classify as above average. I'm leaning towards the frief chicken because a thread on fried chicken had people boasting the best in the county. Any other suggestions?

Well nobody mention anything, so I went with a friends suggestion and got the Memphis Dry Rubbed Ribs. Now to be technical, it is my understanding that if there is brown sugar in the rub, it is Kansas City dry rub, not Memphis, but that is unimportant.
We started with the "famous" wings. Not better or worse than any other generic wings I've had recently. Wings had a decent size, but the sauce wasn't that wonderful or memorable. I got the rack and half of ribs. The portion size was nice, the meat did come off the bone, although this also happens from overcooking, which they were slightly. The rub was caked on in parts, but the flavor wasn't too bad. I just had ribs at a BBQ last weekend that had a similar rub, but the flavor burst in your mouth. This was much more subtle and quite a bit sweeter. I prefer spice to sweet, but that's only my preference.
I rarely comment on this, but the service was atrocious. We were at the table for over two hours and our waitress on more than one occasion disappeared for 10-15 minutes (I don't mean didn't come to us, I mean was nowhere to be found). The bill came to $206 before tip for four people, my friends refused to give her more than 18% (I disagreed at first, but someone mentioned, if she had been more attentive, especially with drinks, it easily could have been another another $60 for the restaurant and we would have given her a much bigger percentage of that.
Finally, I can't remember getting weaker drinks ever. Vodka and Club soda which twice I guzzled down thinking it was my water. Couldn't tell the difference. I think it'll be another four years before I go back.

Sorry you had such a miserable experience. I'm the one who loves their fried chicken. I'm not an expert on ribs, but have enjoyed them as well (altho they are not as good as mine, :)). The service is never terrific, I guess I like it because it's cheap (usually under $60 for my husband and I), local (usually run into people I know) and good value.
