Looking for St. Jorge cheese

Can anyone help me out? I tried this at my husband's Aunt and Uncle's house - they brought it back from Rhode Island. Is there any place in the DC area where I can buy it or a company I could order it from? I've tried Whole Foods, they don't have it there (at least the one near me in Silver Spring).

You could try giving Cheesetique a call. 703.706.5300

They're in the Del Ray section of Alexandria, nearish (~15 blocks north?) the Braddock Road Metro stop on the Blue line.

Hey! Thanks! I will look into all this info. I really appreciate it. I have a birthday coming up soon and I wanted to have it for that.

Cowgirl Creamery may also have a made in America version called St. George made by Matos Dairy in California. It is a very authentic version made by a Portuguese family.

Are you referring to São Jorge cheese from the Azores? I've only brought it in from Portugal, but it can be ordered at igourmet.com. Definitely also try the "Social Safeway" in Georgetown because their new cheese department is extraordinary. If they don't carry it, they might be able to order it for you.
