Hi All,

I need help with finding a quality butcher that is not too expensive. I am looking for a butcher from who I can buy meat to make an assortment of hotdogs.

Please help!

K&T Meats on Broadway in Astoria is terrific. AND, they were the location for the beef bourguignonne sequence from Julia & Julia. This butcher is the supplier for many of the area restaurants, they are always rolling in sides of meat during the day. Very fresh and the butchers have great suggestions if you are a novice cook.

Doubt it's the best, but Los Paisanos, on Smith Street in Brooklyn, is very good.

Ch requires that you post to specific boards--long island is not the outer boroughs board, it's the nystate board and also tristate archive board--do a search first--I know there's a thread for queens butchers, because i posted to it long ago---in Queens, Metro Meats is good and inexpensive, Mitch the owner is very accomodating and his prices are reasonable--it's in Forest Hills on Metropolitan Ave--some people like Mario's further up in Middle Village also on Metrop but the parking can be a pain there--many people like Ottomanellli in Woodside, this might be good for you...I do not like Ottomanelli in Fresh Meadows on Union Turnpike, but others do-- eventually Fairway will open in Little Neck which will be great--I also find good stuff at WHole Foods in Manhasset and they have lots of sales and specials---so, it's not too costly.
